About La Paz
La Paz (pronounced [la ˈpas] , English: "peace") is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, with a population of 250,141 in the 2020 census. La Paz is located in La Paz Municipality, the fourth-largest municipality in Mexico by area (20,275 km2 (7,828 sq mi)), with a population of 292,241. The city proper of La Paz is the main population center in Baja California Sur and accounts for almost one-third of the population of the state.
