About Salair
Salair (Russian: Салаи́р) is a town administratively subordinated to Guryevsk Town Under Oblast Jurisdiction in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, located 210 kilometers (130 mi) south of Kemerovo, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: 8,262 (2010 census); 9,472 (2002 census); 11,452 (1989 Soviet census).

It was founded in 1626 as the village of Salairskoye (Салаирское) on the Malaya Tolmovaya River. Town status was granted to it in 1941.
